Ing. Frank Kofi Apeagyei is a seasoned aviation expert specializing in civil air navigation engineering, operations, training, and regulations. His career began in April 2006 with the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority as an Electronics Engineer, gaining extensive experience in the Aeronautical CNS domain, including frequency management.
He represented Ghana Civil Aviation Authority on the republic of Ghana’s Ministry of Communications’ Spectrum Management Board, from 2009 to 2018, serving as the main technical representative.
In 2013, he was elected Regional Director for Africa at the IFATSEA General Assembly in Istanbul and appointed Senior Manager for Engineering Training.
Throughout his career, Ing. Apeagyei has participated in global conferences, presenting research on behalf of his organization. He was a delegate to the ICAO 39th General Assembly in 2016, where he presented Ghana’s position on ATSEP Licensing to the ICAO Technical Commission.
He holds degrees in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, an MBA in Finance, and an advanced Master in Air Navigation Systems Engineering and Operations from Ecole Nationale de l’Aviation Civile (ENAC), France. In 2019, he trained in certification and compliance at the European Satellite Service Provider (ESSP). He was elected Executive Secretary of IFATSEA and served in that capacity for 2 years in 2022.
Ing Kofi Apeagyei is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and a badged Project Management Instructor at the Project Management Institute (PMI) of USA.
Currently, he is the Director of the Ghana Civil Aviation Training Academy and the first African to be elected as the President of the International Federation of Air Traffic Safety Electronics Association in Las Vegas, October 2024.
